Latex elastics, like all elastomers, should be stored in a cool, dry and dark environment for maximum conservation. Exposure to light, whether natural or artificial, has a detrimental effect on resilience and breaking force.

All elastomeric polymers used are taken into account for use in medical applications. These selected medical grade polymers develop properties necessary for the desired applications and are resistant to accepting hydrophilicity. The rejection of fluid in the materials is critical to its operation in the oral cavity as the conflict of fluid absorption with the desirable elastomeric properties.
